a)
Minor Safety + Procedural
b) Minor Safety + Miss
c) Miss +
Procedural
d) Miss
e)Procedural
The Correct
answer is:
(E)
Procedural
Applicable
Rules:
Procedural for
shooting the targets "out of order".
The penalty
applied as soon as the shooter put the first shot on P4 (which should have been the 3rd
shot on P3)
All pistol
shots HIT pistol targets = NO MISSES.
IF
the shooter had failed to fire the last shot of the first pistol, he would
have still received a PROCEDURAL for shooting the targets out of
order AND a MISS for the unfired round remaining in the revolver.
That would NOT
be a case of "a Miss causing a Procedural"...it’s a case of "brain fade" and
miscounting shots fired.
Since he
eventually fired that round and HIT a pistol target (it doesn’t matter
which target at that point, he already had the "P") he only gets
the initial "P" and NO MISS.
Applying the "MISS
FLOW CHART ":
Did the
shooter hit all the correct type of targets? – YES (Assess no
misses)
Did the
shooter engage the targets in the correct order? - NO (Assess
procedural)

Other
applicable rules:
24.
Ammunition dropped by a shooter in the course of loading or reloading any
firearm during a stage or "ejected" is considered "dead" and may not be
recovered until the shooter completes the course of fire. The round must be
replaced from the shooter's person or other area as required by stage
description, or if the round is not fired it is counted as a missed shot.
Procedurals are unintentional "mistakes" where the
competitor engages the stage in a manner other than the way it is supposed to
be shot. Procedurals are scored as ten-second additions to the competitor's
raw time for the stage, no more than one per stage.
Shooters Handbook (page 18)
10- SECOND PENALTIES
Procedural Penalties
Any unintentional procedural errors caused by
"brain fade," confusion, ignorance, or mistakes (not to exceed one for any
given stage).
• Failure to attempt to fire a
firearm.
• Failure to attempt a prop or stage
maneuver.
• Shooting targets in an order other than as required
by stage description.

Inadvertently leaving unfired rounds in a revolver is a miss unless the round
is under the hammer, then it is a Stage Disqualification.
